The process

How a basin is born

Every commission begins the same way. With a conversation, not a brief.

  1. 01

    We talk

Not about measurements or materials. About how you want to feel when you walk into that room. What kind of light lives there. What the space means to you. I listen more than I talk.

  2. 02

    The questionnaire

I send you a personal set of questions that go deeper than aesthetics. Which natural environment makes you feel most at home? If your bathroom had a mood, what would it be? Which colours make you feel safe, and which ones make you feel alive? Is there a symbol, a memory or a material that feels deeply personal to you?

Your answers become the emotional blueprint for your basin.

  3. 03

    Two moodboards

We each create one independently, you from your world, me from mine. Then we sit together and find where they overlap. That intersection is where your basin begins.

  4. 04

    Sketches and colour samples

I translate the moodboard into form — hand sketches exploring shape and proportion. Alongside this, I fire small glaze samples in your palette. You receive them to hold, to live with, to decide.

Nothing moves forward until the colours feel right in your hands.

  5. 05

    Technical development

I build the form at scale. Testing structure, water flow, drainage, wall mounting. Ceramics are unforgiving. This stage is where craft becomes engineering.

This stage takes time. That time is part of what you are commissioning.

  6. 06

    The making

Your basin is formed by hand from raw stoneware clay. Every curve shaped with intention. Fired twice. Finished by hand between firings.

From this moment, your basin exists. Nothing like it has ever existed before.

  7. 07

    Delivery

I deliver in person. Because the moment deserves it.

No two basins exist. Yours begins with a conversation.
