The process
How a basin is born
Every commission begins the same way. With a conversation, not a brief.

We talk
Not about measurements or materials. About how you want to feel when you walk into that room. What kind of light lives there. What the space means to you. I listen more than I talk.

The form
Each Felarti basin begins with one of my signature designs, forms I developed through years of making, each with its own character and proportion. You choose the one that speaks to your space. From there, everything that follows is yours.

Your palette
I fire a set of glaze samples in colours that feel right for your space. You receive them to hold, to live with for a few days, to decide. Nothing moves forward until the colours feel right in your hands.

Your story
This is where your story enters the clay. A word. A date. A small sketch. Something that belongs only to you, woven into the design in a way that feels inevitable rather than added. Not decoration — it's an integration.

Technical development
I build the form at scale. Testing structure, water flow, drainage, wall mounting. Ceramics are unforgiving. This stage is where craft becomes engineering.
This stage takes time. That time is part of what you are commissioning. -

The making
Your basin is formed from raw stoneware clay, shaped with intention, finished by hand. From this moment, something exists that has never existed before.

Delivery
I deliver in person wherever I can. Because the moment deserves it — the first time your basin sits in its space, I want to be there. For locations further afield, we find a way that honours the piece.
